Two Key Mixing Stages in Battery Manufacturing
Battery electrode production involves two distinct mixing processes, each requiring different equipment and process conditions:
Electrode Slurry Mixing
Active materials (NMC, LFP, NCA, graphite), conductive additives (carbon black), binders (PVDF, CMC/SBR), and solvent (NMP or water) are mixed together to form a homogeneous electrode slurry. This slurry is then coated onto aluminum foil (cathode) or copper foil (anode), dried, and calendered to form battery electrodes.

Electrode Powder Premixing
Before slurry preparation, cathode and anode active material powders — including LFP, NMC, NCA, graphite, and carbon black — are pre-blended in dry form to ensure uniform distribution of particles and conductive agents. Uniform powder premixing reduces agglomeration and improves the consistency of the final slurry.

Its dual planetary mixing action — blades that rotate on their own axes while simultaneously orbiting the mixing vessel — ensures complete, homogeneous dispersion with no dead zones. Vacuum degassing removes trapped air bubbles that would otherwise compromise electrode coating quality.
